Charles B. Boyd serves as the Managing Partner of The Capstone Group.  Prior to becoming an educational consultant and school improvement specialist, Charles spent 21 years in education as a teacher, school leader, and executive officer in urban and rural school districts.  He has led efforts to create new schools; to move low-performing campuses to higher levels of academic achievement and accountability ratings; to redesign, transform and revitalize high schools and middle schools based on a theory of action resulting in the creation of a portfolio of world-class schools; and, to strengthen the talents and skills of school leaders at all levels in order to meet the changing environment of 21st century education.  Mr. Boyd has been a guest speaker to local, state and national groups and has provided testimony to both the Senate and House of Representatives Select Committees on Education of the Texas legislature.

Charles believes that we no longer can afford to use a broken model to educate children today.  He believes our future success as a nation lies in our ability to create an educational system based upon a focus of strong academic rigor with real world application, personalized learning communities, and effective, accountable instruction and leadership.
